Breast Implants Technology

Breast Implants Technology is always improving. Are all breast implants the same? Well…obviously not. Everyone, especially those thinking about breast enhancement surgery, know there are basically two types of breast implants:

  • Saline.
  • Silicone.

You will hear people speak of how silicone implants provide a more natural-looking appearance and feel, as the silicone, a thick, sticky fluid that closely mimics the feel of human fat, according to most women, gives a better result. One of the downsides of silicone implants is larger scarring where the implants are inserted, and in the unfortunate event of rupturing, the implications are a bit more serious than if a rupture occurs with a saline implant.

Saline implants leave a smaller scar as the implant is inserted and then filled with a sterile saline solution until the desired size and shape are achieved. If rupturing occurs, the saline will be absorbed by the body, posing not health risks to the body; but in both cases, whether saline or silicone rupturing, surgery will probably be needed to make corrections.

You should do some extensive research to learn more about the potential health risks, and consult with only accredited plastic surgeons before committing to breast augmentation surgery.

Whatever the case, it’s good to learn all you can about new technology and practices in breast implant and reconstructive surgery, and how you can best take advantage of those technologies.
