Breast Lift Mastopexy

Mastopexy, more commonly known as a breast lift mastopexy, believe it or not, according to statistics from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, now out-numbers breast implant surgery 2 to 1, a 70% increase since 2000. A breast lift is exactly what it sounds like; a (surgical) lifting of the breasts so as to bring about a more youthful appearance, greatly improving your breast profile, and probably even encourage your bringing out those outfits you once loved…no…scratch that…going out and buying new ones! And who doesn’t love shopping?

Younger women typically haven’t had to deal with this often-disheartening occurrence, but as we age, we all have several things working against our once firm, dynamite looking figures. Often times, the areola becomes enlarged. As a woman ages, there tends to be a loss of skin elasticity. A breast lift will typically reduce this enlargement.

These changes and loss of skin elasticity can result from:

  • Changes due to pregnancy.
  • The effects of breastfeeding.
  • Changes in weight.
  • Aging.
  • Heredity
  • And, of course…gravity. Ugh!

Fortunately, mastopexy can go a long way to combating these effects, and really bolster your self-esteem by raising your breasts, causing them to look firmer and fuller!

The things a breast lift won’t do is round out the upper part of your breasts or significantly change their size. Consult with your plastic surgeon about possible breast implants if you would like to enlarge your breasts and increase their contour.
