Karlee Smith’s drive to create sexy and supportive post-op bras started, of course, with her own breast surgery experience. As every woman wants in this intimate period of her life, Karlee wanted her post op support bra to feel like a fun and fashionable addition to her wardrobe, not unbearable obligation.
It all started with Karlee’s determination as a high school student to intern with VF Corporation, one of the best intimates companies in the industry. She soon after submitted a stellar scholarship application that awarded her full tuition entrance to The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. Karlee’s passion was always for intimates, activewear, and swim although she spent most of her internship in college either as an editor at Vicious Magazine and working on more general clothing items at VF Corporation in their sourcing division; after graduating, brands like Fruit of the Loom and Victoria’s Secret could all see the potential for a great innovator in bra fashion.
After receiving awards for her fashion concepts in marketing & merchandising at New York Fashion Week and Elle Girl Magazine, plus opportunities with Fortune 500 companies like VF Corporation, Fruit of the Loom, and Victoria’s Secret, Karlee decided to develop her own brand to leave women feeling supported and confident no matter the circumstances.
Karlee is now very proud of her decision to focus on post-op bra design, loving any and every story she hears from confident KS women. She strives to grow and evolve her line after the many empowered women who now wear her brand and from the activities she enjoys the most, like fitness, travel, music, art, and of course, fashion. (Even if she admittedly has had a few ugly bumps in the road).
